CHALONER ASSOCIATES RECRUITS ITS OWN STAFF - AS ICING ARTISTS

Boston, MA - December 17, 2008 - On Wednesday,
December 17, Ted Chaloner, president of national executive
search firm Chaloner Associates, Inc., gathered his staff in his Boston kitchen to accomplish a very special task: decorating cookies. The event was part of a larger program entitled Drop In & Decorate, a nonprofit organization based in Rhode Island that encourages groups to host cookie decorating parties and donate their edible creations to local charities.

The event was a logical one for Chaloner Associates. Not only was the thirty-year-old
company with offices in Boston and New York seeking a fun, team-building event in addition to their annual holiday dinner, but Drop In & Decorate was founded by Ted Chaloner's wife, Lydia Walshin. A food writer and blogger, Walshin has been hosting her own Drop In & Decorate® events in her Rhode Island kitchen for seven years, and last year, with the success of her blog, The Perfect Pantry, decided to take the idea worldwide. This year alone, her network of food bloggers and friends have held cookies-for-donation events in fifteen states and India and Germany, and more than 30 shelters, food pantries, domestic violence centers, and other nonprofit organizations have received the colorful baked goods.

Everyone at Chaloner Associates helped with baking or decorating more than 100 large cookies. With cookies cut in a variety of shapes and icing spanning the rainbow, the Chaloner staff demonstrated their boundless creativity. Some natural artists emerged from the group, and for some others, well, it was decided their true talents still lay in recruiting! After letting the icing dry overnight, Ted and several staff members delivered the beautiful cookies to Casa Myrna Vasquez, a Boston-based, multicultural organization dedicated to ending domestic violence in the lives of women and children through advocacy, prevention and intervention.

“We timed our delivery perfectly,” said Ted Chaloner. “There was a holiday party that afternoon for the women and children at Casa Myrna. The decorating is fun, but the smiles on the faces of the recipients makes it worthwhile.”
